Search-Finders of Idaho

Searching

The Secrecy of Sealed Records

Deprives adoptive parents access to critical information regarding their children;

Denies adoptees full adult status regarding their origins, And limits their access to medical information

Forces birthparents who have relinquished a child to live forever in ignorance regarding his or her well being.

The Meeting
The meetings consist of two parts.  First is our support group.  During the first part we have announcements and members have the opportunity to share concerns, personal stories of recent finds or reunions.  We often have guest speakers who are associated with adoption issues on a personal or professional level.  We feel it is important for members to attend meetings and participate in this part of the group.  Searching involves a lot of conflicting feelings and it is helpful to share with others who have had similar experiences.

The second part of the meeting is for those who wish to join and talk to a search consultant about their search.  Search consultants are available to advise and guide those who are beginning a search or are involved in their search  Please bring copies of any information you have.  We feel it is important for everyone to participate in their search process.

We ask that you not bring children to the meeting.  We want our members to feel comfortable discussing sensitive issues.

If you live outside the area and are unable to attend meetings, Search-Finders can still help you with your search.  If you would like to join, please send us copies of the information you have concerning your search, along with your membership fee.  We will correspond with you by mail or email.

Our goal is to make your search experience a positive one.

Our meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the Second Thursday of each month at:
